Tooley's dictionary of mapmakers, 1999-2004---vol. 1, p. 131 (Bertius [Bert, Berts], Petrus [Pierre, Pieter] (1565-1629). Born in Flanders, settled first in Amsterdam, then became professor of mathematics and librarian at Leiden; appointed Cosmographer to Louis XIII from 1618, died in Paris. Brother-in-law of both Jodocus Hondius and Pieter van der Keere, with whom he collaborated. Wrote a geographical treatise in Latin published as a pocket atlas)
